Bridging Worldviews: The Missing Link in Christian Investment Management
As I consider developing wealth management content, a single biblical principle challenges my assumptions...
As the CFO of an NYSE-listed company (Anworth Mortgage Asset Corporation, ANH), my management outlook consistently conformed to the quarterly 10-Q. Nothing was more pressing. In reality, the performance requirements of this short-term reporting could easily warp long-term goals.
The investment results of RIA clients also conformed to these same short-term timelines.
As I reflect on Proverbs 13:22: “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,” my understanding of how we communicate and reflect upon wealth has been transformed.
Every piece of financial communication should reflect technical excellence but with a long-term and even eternal perspective.
Yet, we struggle to integrate biblical wisdom beyond surface-level references meaningfully. Our approach should be based on a much higher understanding of accurate biblical insights that guide and support our investment management and communication efforts.
It’s not about adding Scripture references—it’s about viewing wealth through a divine lens.
KEY INSIGHTS:
1. Wealth’s Timeline
- Traditional view: Quarterly/annual returns
- Biblical view: Generational impact
- Communication implication: Need to address both immediate and eternal horizons
2. Purpose Alignment
- Market perspective: Wealth preservation/growth
- Kingdom perspective: Stewardship for eternal impact
- Communication challenge: Bridging these worldviews
3. Language Integration
- Industry-standard: Technical expertise
- Biblical wisdom: Eternal principles
- Solution: Weaving both for fuller understanding

PSS…I have recently developed a Ghostwriting professional service that develops LinkedIn site content for Christian investment advisors and managers. Essentially, I ghostwrite LinkedIn content to bridge financial expertise with kingdom impact. Most of these posts will appear on the Substack website, and I will leave it to you if you want to subscribe and receive them automatically. Although this subsection combines my professional experience as a CPA, CFP, and investment manager with my biblical knowledge and interests, I realize many will only be interested in the original Substack - The Inevitable Truth. And that is perfectly fine. If you know of professionals who might be interested in this service, I ask that you refer them to this site. I also leave my professional LinkedIn profile for your review if interested.
Thank you,
Thad
