Isn’t that the purpose behind Christianity?

Expand full comment

If I understand your question correctly, the purpose of Christianity is to glorify God through worship, obedience, and sharing the gospel. Salvation, which is a product of the gospel, imparts a number of benefits, such as an eternity in the presence of God. On earth, there are other rewards, such as protection from the evil one or Satan. The concept behind the post is to clarify how this protection is achieved—by putting on the full armor of God as described in Ephesians 6:11-17 vs. trying to rebuke Satan personally. Thank you for your question.

I agree, do not go demon hunting. That being said, I have encounter demonic activity in the past. Sometimes the Lord will tell you to flee (listen to Him), in other rare times you may need to still the mouth of the demon by a simple, “In the name of Jesus Christ, be quiet.”

“Christians” will NEVER abandon their Jewish “gods”!

I love this! It is so confusing to here Christians today telling us to rebuke Satan when that is never commanded in the Bible. To be sure, Jesus did so, but we aren't Jesus. Instead, we resist the devil through Jesus. He is the one who protects us. The power we have is not one of "rebuking Satan," but rather one of calling upon the Lord to deliver us from Satan through prayer.

Full agreement. I also cringe when I hear people pray or say certain phrases.

We stand and resist, not rebuke and cast out. It is the Lord of Hosts who gave victory to Israel over their enemies, He defeats the foe today. We ask Him for help.

Thanks for your breakdown of the armor.
