Great question Charles. You refer to John and in John 3:17-18 it states “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.”
We condemn ourselves when we deny Christ. He came to save that which was already lost.
The fact that you are questioning shows a searching heart. I pray you find your answers.
2 Tim 3:16 states that “all scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness". Of course when Saul wrote this to Timothy, the "scripture" he was talking about was not the Gospel accounts we are familiar with.
I find it hard to reconcile the fact that Jesus was a Jewish rabbi and yet, in the book of John, he allegedly condemns all who do not believe in him to an eternity of torture.
I thank Jesus that you are studying scripture to make sense of your life in the natural. I pray that Jesus takes you to the next level to open your spiritual eyes and releases you from ambiguity. Keep going my brother, Jesus has much more for you. You will find the character of God in Exodus 34:6-7. Jesus and Yahweh are one and in each other.
I find “Christians” in all denominations that happily refute the truth of the Word. Laodicean churches will not discipline their flock for fear of losing Pugh sitters with deep pockets. Business over truth! Urghhh!
