"Indeed, a Christian is unable to lose their salvation, as John 6:39 promises, “And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all [the believers] that He [the father] has given me, but raise it up on the last day” and Ephesians 1:13-14 records, “In Him [Christ] you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His glory.”

Guarantee in vs. 14 is rendered "earnest" in the KJV. My wife and I have bought and sold many properties over the years, so the concept of "earnest" is one we understood well. The whole purpose is that if someone were to renege on their promise of purchase, they would lose the earnest $ they put down . When I saw the scripture appliy to God's spiritual purchase of souls, it sealed my understanding that salvation is permanent. We cannot lose it, as God cannot lose (be separated from) his own Holy Spirit which he pledged as earnest/down payment. It wasn't that I didn't believe it before, it just put it in such a graphic picture that it solidified my belief.

Excellent study ...

Thank you for pointing out the truth of spiritual warfare and why the unsaved don't see it for what it is.
